General Characteristics
A personality plus hybrid dog, the Westiepoo or Wee-Poo is a cross between a West Highland White Terrier and a Miniature Poodle. They are a small dog, not usually weighing more than 15 pounds, but they are muscular and full of energy, always up for a game of fetch or a jog outside.
The Westie-Poo can be any color from solid white to creams, parti-colors, tri-colors and solids. White markings are common on the face, legs and chest. The coat is kinky to wavy, medium length and is typically silky and very low shedding.
There is usually significant fringe on the legs, belly and tail and the face is typically more terrier like than Poodle like in appearance. When the coat is left natural it looks very windblown and tousled, however it can also be clipped and kept short.
The Wee-Poo is a great dog for families and can adapt to living in rural areas or in the city. With routine walks outside they make a wonderful apartment dog and are not usually prone to problem barking when trained and socialized.
What You Need To Know About Owning A Wee-Poo
The Westie-Poo is a very intelligent breed that is considered to be very easy to housetrain and obedience train. They can be reluctant to do the same activity over and over and don't need highly repetitive training routines. Wee-Poos are also very curious canine hybrid dogs and with their terrier and Poodle lineage they are smart enough to figure out almost any type of cupboard closing, way into and out of things and even how to train their owners to do just what they want. Firm, consistent and positive training is recommended for these terrier cross dog types.
The Westiepoo, like many hybrid breeds, craves human interaction and to be close to his or her family. They are not a good dog to be kept outside or in a kennel, rather they want to be on the bed, the chair or on the couch with you at all times. They adjust well to cats, kids and other dogs and are not usually territorial or aggressive.

General Characteristics
An active, intelligent and highly affectionate small dog, the Pomapoo or Pooranian is not a purebred but rather one of the more popular hybrid breeds. As a cross between a Toy or Miniature Poodle and a Pomeranian, they tend to favor the Pomeranian in physical appearance but the Poodle in temperament. They can be found in a variety of colors from tans and browns through to gray, black and white, merle and even solid colors. The coat can be single or double, wavy to straight and long to medium in length.

The face tends to be rather fox-like in appearance for this hybrid dog, with the triangular ears of the Pom most common. There are also Pom-A-Poos that have the longer ears of the Poodle, so owners have a choice. The tail is usually well fringed and carried high over the back or curled over the rump. The body is solid and muscular but not heavy or stocky with a mature weight of 10-15 pounds most common.
What You Need To Know About Owning A Pom-A-Poo
Pooranians are true family dogs and love to be with people they know. As companion dog types they are very attuned to their owners and are obedient, affectionate and loving dogs. The Pooranian is very adaptable and can live in small apartments or in large families with kids and other pets. They are very energetic but will also self-exercise inside if they can't have regular time in a fenced yard throughout the day. Some may be possessive and protective of their owners so early socialization and obedience training is important.
As with many of the smaller types of canine hybrids, the Pomapoo may be prone to early tooth loss if a dental hygiene routine is not put in place early in the dog's life. Feeding a good quality dry food is also important as this helps keep the teeth and gums healthy. Some Pooranians may also have a tendency to develop cataracts and early and routine eye examinations are important to treat any possible eye conditions as soon as they are diagnosed.
